(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of June 24, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department held a regular Reporters' Conference for June 2015. At the conference, delegates listened to comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee provide some information on the socio-economic situation of the province in the past term. Despite many difficulties, under the leadership of the Party Committee and the efforts of all classes of people, all levels, sectors and enterprises, the socio-economic situation of the province has achieved encouraging results: Growth rate, 7.84%; GDP doubled at the beginning of the term, economic structure shifted in the right direction. The new rural construction program developed rapidly, changing the face of the countryside, by the end of 2015 the whole province strives to have 114 communes achieving the new rural commune status.

Investment attraction achieved good results. During the term, 373 projects were attracted with a total registered capital of 86,372 billion VND, including 17 foreign projects, with many leading Vietnamese enterprises investing in Nghe An such as Hoa Sen Group, Masan, The Visai Ninh Binh, Saigon Beer... increasing local budget revenue, creating jobs,... ODA projects were implemented well, in the past 5 years there were 31 projects with a total capital of over 15,000 billion VND, 58 NGOs with a total capital of over 16 million USD.

Technical infrastructure has been heavily invested in, with many key projects such as the expansion of National Highway 1A, Vinh airport being upgraded to an international cargo port, Hoang Mai-Dong Hoi road, Tay Nghe An road, inauguration of overpasses, implementation of power line construction for 16 communes without electricity...

In the coming term, the province will focus on promoting its potential and advantages, striving to make Nghe An a fairly developed province in the Northern region by 2020 and become a center of finance, trade-tourism, education and training, science and technology, culture-sports and high-tech industry of the North Central region, with synchronous infrastructure, guaranteed political security, and increasingly improved people's lives. That requires the province to take shortcuts and create breakthroughs to achieve the set goals.

Regarding the propaganda orientation in July, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department instructed reporters to focus on propagating the results of the grassroots Party Congresses leading up to the 18th Provincial Party Congress, proactively advising the Party Committee to launch an 80-day emulation campaign to study and contribute ideas to the Party Congress documents at all levels, which will begin from now until the end of September 2015; Propagating the implementation of the province's socio-economic goals in 2015 and the socio-economic goals of the 17th Provincial Party Congress, term 2010-2015.
