Creating substantive changes in gender equality work, for the advancement of women
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of March 8, the Provincial Committee for the Advancement of Women held a workshop on gender equality, activities for the advancement of women; and a plan to investigate and survey female cadres in Nghe An province in 2022.

Gender equality work is increasingly going into depth, with quality recognized by all levels, sectors and people. 22/25 targets of the Gender Equality Strategy in 2021 achieved and exceeded the annual plan, reaching 88% of the set annual plan. In which, the gender equality targetIn the fields of economics - labor, health, information and communication... there isPositive development, especially the goal of gender equality in the political field, such as: Female delegates of the People's Council at the provincial level reached 27.71%; at the district level reached 31.25%; at the commune level reached 29.97%, all higher than the 2016 - 2021 term; the rate of district-level local governments with key female leaders accounted for 66.67%; the rate of commune-level local governments with key female leaders accounted for 46.3%, reaching 132% of the set plan...
Nghe An women continue to promote their roles and responsibilities in all fields of activity, especially in maintaining family happiness and making practical contributions to the socio-economic development of the province in recent times.

Speaking at the workshop, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long - Head of the Committee for the Advancement of Women requested: In order for gender equality and activities for women's advancement to achieve many practical results, it is recommended that sectors and levels continue to implement the policies of the Party, State and Government on the National Strategy on Gender Equality. In particular, promoting the organization and implementation of the goals and targets of the National program on gender equality and activities for the advancement of women.
In addition, it is necessary to effectively implement mechanisms and policies to ensure gender equality principles in relevant fields; mainstream gender equality contents in policy making, laws, programs, projects, strategies, and socio-economic development plans of the province; enhance equal participation of women in leadership and management positions at all levels. At the same time, promote communication, propaganda, dissemination, and education of policies and laws on gender equality.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested to strengthen the management responsibility of local authorities, the participation and coordination role of departments, branches, sectors, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in association with promoting the role and responsibility of leaders in operating, managing and directing the implementation of mechanisms and policies on gender equality development and for women's advancement. Strengthen inspection, examination and handling of violations of gender equality according to the provisions of law; Seriously and effectively deploy the plan to investigate and survey female cadres in the whole province in 2022.

At the workshop, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Dinh Long awarded Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs to 03 collectives and 03 individuals for their achievements in implementing the National Strategy on Gender Equality for the period 2011-2020.
