Creating equal development opportunities for poor children and ethnic minority children

The Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs has just approved the Plan to implement the Month of Action for Children 2013 from June 1 to June 30 with the theme "Creating equal development opportunities for poor children and ethnic minority children".
According to the Plan, the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in coordination with the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province will organize the Launching Ceremony of the Month of Action for Children 2013 with the theme "Creating equal development opportunities for poor children and ethnic minority children", scheduled for June 1, 2013.
During the Action Month, meetings will be held to honor poor children, children in mountainous areas, ethnic minority children and children in special circumstances who are exemplary in their spirit of overcoming difficulties and striving to rise up; and to honor exemplary groups and individuals who are dedicated to contributing and dedicating themselves to the work of caring for, educating and protecting children.
Organize events or campaigns, call on organizations and individuals to support resources for the Children's Support Fund at all levels to build welfare projects, especially schools, classrooms, boarding houses, facilities, entertainment equipment, playgrounds for children in the community and schools; organize for sponsors to give gifts and scholarships to poor children, children in mountainous areas, ethnic minority children and children in special circumstances; support surgery and orthopedics for disabled children; inaugurate and implement projects for children.
Also according to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, many cultural, sports, entertainment and safe and healthy summer activities will be organized. Specifically, organizing activities to educate children on self-protection skills, prevention and avoidance of falling into social evils; risks of abuse, violence, labor exploitation; prevention of accidents and injuries (especially traffic accidents, drowning), safe participation in traffic, learning to swim, first aid for people with accidents and injuries...
Create many playgrounds, diverse and practical forms of cultural, recreational, entertainment and sports activities in the community, schools, cultural houses, libraries, parks... and on mass media channels during the Month of Action for Children and summer vacation. Create conditions for poor children, children in mountainous areas, ethnic minority children and children in special circumstances to visit, travel and participate in cultural and sports events.
At the same time, organize exchange, cultural and sports activities between poor children, children in mountainous areas, ethnic minority children and children in special circumstances with other children to increase their confidence and support their integration into the community.
According to the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, in recent years, the State has issued many policies to support poor children, children in special circumstances, ethnic minority children, and children in remote and isolated areas... The policies have wide coverage and are quite comprehensive, thanks to which the lives and rights of children are better guaranteed.
However, there are still inadequacies and inequalities for children in low-income families and ethnic minority children in accessing quality public services such as healthcare, education, etc.; there are still many poor children, children in ethnic minority and disadvantaged areas who lack food and clothing, and have little opportunity to fully enjoy their rights./.
