Creating favorable conditions for businesses to invest effectively in Cuba

On the afternoon of September 4, at the Government Headquarters, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung received Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, who is visiting and working in Vietnam.

On behalf of the Government, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung welcomed Minister Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz's working visit to Vietnam with practical contents, especially the introduction of the Investment Law and new policies in attracting foreign investment in Cuba; saying that the results of the visit will be a milestone contributing positively to promoting multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung affirmed that the potential for cooperation between the two countries is still very large. Vietnam attaches special importance to and will do its utmost to continue promoting the cooperative relationship between the two countries to develop more deeply and effectively, especially in economic, trade and investment cooperation.

According to Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, the signing of the Medium-Term Cooperation Program by the two sides will be an important foundation and basis to promote economic, trade and investment cooperation activities; he suggested that the Intergovernmental Committee of the two countries focus on promoting the implementation of the Vietnam-Cuba Medium-Term Cooperation Program that was agreed upon and signed by the two sides.

The Vietnamese Government always supports cooperation projects between the two countries, especially those in telecommunications and agriculture, contributing to ensuring food security for Cuba. Vietnam will create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to have practical and effective investment projects in Cuba, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung emphasized.

Through Minister Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung conveyed his greetings, warm regards and best wishes to the Cuban leaders.

Emphasizing some of the main results of the Cuban delegation's visit and work in Vietnam this time, Minister Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz said that, on the basis of the very good traditional friendship between the two countries, Cuba wishes to continue to strengthen and further expand cooperation with Vietnam in various fields. He hopes that Vietnam will strengthen cooperation and share experiences with Cuba in agricultural development, telecommunications development, management and foreign investment attraction; building industrial parks, export processing zones, etc.

Minister Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz affirmed that Cuba will create favorable conditions and will continue to build and perfect special incentive mechanisms and policies for Vietnamese enterprises to invest in Cuba. In addition, Minister Rodrigo Malmierca Diaz also hopes that the two sides will increase trade exchanges, facilitating the easy penetration of each country's products into each other's markets.
