Attending were comrades Thai Van Hang - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Hoang Viet Cuong - Deputy General Director of the General Department of Customs.
In 2013, the world and domestic economic situation still faced many difficulties, significantly affecting the operations of the Customs sector and especially for enterprises operating in the field of import and export. However, with the close direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee, and the support of all levels, Nghe An Customs still achieved many achievements. In addition to performing well the state management of Customs operations, specialized departments have actively coordinated with related forces such as Border Guard, Tax, authorities at all levels... to implement programs and plans for effective cooperation in the field of import and export, smuggling, illegal transportation of goods, drugs across the border, tax arrears... Also in the past time, thanks to promoting administrative procedure reform, applying e-Customs and creating favorable conditions for enterprises participating in import and export, in 2013, there were 287 enterprises participating in import and export activities and the total number of declarations registered for procedures was nearly 8,000, the import and export turnover reached more than 591 million USD, an increase of 23% compared to 2012. Speaking at the conference, comrades Thai Van Hang - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Hoang Viet Cuong - Deputy Director General of the General Department of Customs acknowledged the positive and effective contributions of the Customs sector in the socio-economic development of the locality and the Finance sector, and emphasized: In the coming time, Nghe An Customs needs to have appropriate solutions to successfully complete the task of budget collection, not to let bad debts and overdue debts occur; Strengthen inspection and control against smuggling and trade fraud; Promote post-clearance inspection, promptly prevent fraud and tax evasion. The Ministry of Finance recognized 12 individuals who achieved the title of emulation fighter in the finance sector.
