Mr. Tran Manh Hung was born in 1959, joined the Postal sector in 1981 and has held many important positions at VNPT such as Head of VNPT Telecommunications Department, Member of VNPT Board of Members, Deputy General Director of VNPT and Director of Hanoi Telecommunications.
At present, VNPT is still waiting for the approval of the restructuring plan of this group. Mr. Tran Manh Hung's appointment to the "hot seat" requires the leader of this enterprise to make many reasonable decisions to help VNPT make a breakthrough in the coming time, especially when VNPT is "moving slower" than the "later born" Viettel Military Telecommunications Group.
Specifically, in 2012, the total revenue of VNPT Group was 130,390 billion VND, reaching 100.3% of the plan, equal to 107.94% compared to 2011; the state budget payment was 7,561 billion VND, reaching 100% of the plan, equal to 101% compared to 2011.
Meanwhile, Viettel Group's revenue in 2012 was 140,058 billion VND, reaching 100.04% of the plan, an increase of 22,720 billion VND; estimated payment to the State budget was 10,394 billion VND, an increase of 1,103 billion VND.
Mr. Tran Manh Hung's predecessor, Mr. Vu Tuan Hung (born in 1956), was transferred to the Department of Organization and Personnel, Ministry of Information and Communications./.
