On the morning of June 20, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department organized a 2017 science and education training course for propaganda staff at all levels. Science and education work is an important part of the Party's Propaganda work; it is the pillar and foundation for the entire human development strategy and occupies a key position in implementing socio-economic development tasks.

In the fields of science, education - training, health care, population and development are always considered an important part of the country's development strategy, one of the basic factors to improve the quality of life of each person, family and the whole society; contributing to the implementation of the process of industrialization - modernization of the country and international integration.

In recent years, the advisory work in the field of science and technology on health care for the people has been highly valued by the Party committees and authorities at all levels and has achieved many remarkable results. Notably: The health status of the people has improved significantly, the average life expectancy has increased every year, many dangerous epidemics have been controlled and pushed back.

In the field of education and training, the school system and educational scale have developed; the quality of education has been improved, contributing to meeting the human resource needs for socio-economic development.

In addition, the work of protecting, caring for and educating children is focused on, especially ensuring children's rights and living environment.

However, we still face many difficulties and challenges. The change in disease structure due to climate change, indiscriminate use of drugs; many shortcomings in implementing the health insurance system; abuse and profiteering of the health insurance fund still occur; facilities, equipment, and human resources do not meet the requirements in the new situation; the number of children born to the third child or more, and the gender imbalance at birth in Nghe An are at an alarming level.

In the field of education and training, the content and educational programs have been innovated but have not kept up with the times. There is still a state of degradation and deviation from moral standards and lifestyles among a segment of young people.

Meanwhile, scientific consulting methods at some Party committees and authorities have not yet met requirements.

Based on that reality, the training program aims to equip propaganda staff with basic information on some current social issues of concern and advisory work to improve professional qualifications and provide some new content in the process of organizing the implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws in the field of science and education for the propaganda team and the propaganda sector in the province.

During the day, the students were reported by Prof. Dr. Dao Van Dung - Chairman of the Scientific Council - Institute of Public Health, former Director of the Department of Social Affairs - Central Propaganda Department on the topics: Some medical issues (medical examination and treatment, health insurance, food safety today) and the topic: Some current social issues of concern (population and development, education and training, physical education and sports).
