Training on national border management and protection of the Vietnam - Laos border marker system
On August 6-9, the Department of Foreign Affairs chaired and coordinated with member agencies of the Nghe An Provincial Border Steering Committee to organize training conferences on national border management and protection of the Vietnam - Laos border marker system in the province.
Attending the event were 600 delegates from the border communes of Thanh Thuy, Ngoc Lam (Thanh Chuong); Mon Son, Chau Khe (Con Cuong).

The conference provided people in border communes with practical knowledge and information on the management and protection of national borders, the protection of the Vietnam-Laos border marker system; the prevention and control of illegal migration and illegal marriage in border areas and a number of documents and laws regulating residence, exit, entry, and freelance work in Laos; the work of ensuring security, preventing and combating crimes and social evils in border areas, etc.

In addition, the Reporters at the Conference also presented some situations and results of cooperation between Nghe An province and bordering provinces such as Xieng Khouang, Hua Phan and Bolikhamxay (Laos), cooperation directions in the coming time as well as some information on the reception and return of citizens who violated regulations on entry, exit and freelance labor in Laos through border gates.

Through the Conference, the reporters from the Department of Foreign Affairs, the Provincial Police, and the Provincial Border Guard Command also thoroughly grasped the basic contents of the Agreement on border management regulations and border gates on land between Vietnam and Laos, the Protocol on border lines and border markers between Vietnam and Laos and related legal regulations...

At the Conference, the Organizing Committee also distributed propaganda documents and leaflets in the form of questions and answers on issues related to the Vietnam - Laos border and border management to officials and people in border communes.

The information and knowledge provided at the Conference contributed to raising awareness of people in border areas about national border management and protection of Vietnam-Laos border markers; the significance and importance of preserving and promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
At the same time, help people better understand legal regulations to contribute to limiting illegal exit and freelance labor in Laos and some other countries./.
