At the conference, the trainees listened to the reporter introduce the Prime Minister's Decision No. 32 on the Project for Developing the Social Work Profession. It focuses on some specialized contents such as social work with children, social work with the elderly, and introduction to social work. Thereby, in order to improve the professional qualifications, skills, and training for ministries, civil servants, and social work collaborators, striving from now until 2020 to complete the project to arrange each commune, ward, and town to have 1 to 2 cadres, civil servants, and employees doing social work.
The project on developing the social work profession in Vietnam aims to build a sufficient number of cadres, civil servants, employees and social workers, meeting quality requirements, associated with the development of a system of facilities providing social work services at all levels, contributing to the construction of an advanced social security system. In Nghe An, since 2010, through the project, a social work vocational training center has been built, a team of specialized collaborators has been formed and an in-service university class on social work has been opened for nearly 100 students who are district and commune policy officers.
