Training on industrial development, small-scale industry and craft village construction
(Baonghean.vn) -On July 13, in Vinh City, Nghe An Province Cooperative Union held a training conference on Resolution 06-NQ/TU dated November 4, 2011 of the Provincial Party Committee on industrial and handicraft development and craft village construction in the period 2011 - 2020; evaluating 2 years of implementing the detailed planning for craft village development (2011 - 2015); management regulations, policies and mechanisms on fisheries economy and fisheries organization.
Attending the conference were representatives of the departments: Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development, Planning and Investment, Natural Resources and Environment, Science and Technology, General Statistics Office and representatives of People's Committees of districts, cities, towns and craft villages.

At the conference, delegates were informed of the development orientation of a number of key sectors and fields according to the Resolution; the Action Program of the Provincial People's Committee on implementing Resolution No. 06; the Decision of the Provincial People's Committee on amending and supplementing a number of articles of the regulations on recognition of craft villages, craft villages and policies to encourage the development of small-scale industry and craft villages in Nghe An province...
After 2 years of implementing the detailed planning for developing craft villages in Nghe An province in the period of 2011-2015, the proportion of production value from craft villages in the industrial and handicraft value of the province reached 30% in 2010, 35% in 2011 and is estimated to reach 38% in 2012. In 2010, the value of handicrafts reached 2,500 billion VND, of which the contribution of production from craft villages was 1,800 billion VND; in 2011, it reached 2,700 billion VND, of which production from craft villages was 2,000 billion VND; in 2012, it is estimated to reach 3,500 billion VND, of which the contribution of production from craft villages was 2,500 billion VND. Building and developing a model of craft villages, craft villages that achieved and exceeded targets, in 2010, the Provincial People's Committee recognized 19 craft villages, bringing the total number of craft villages to 102, exceeding 2 villages compared to the set target.
In 2011, the Provincial People's Committee recognized 9 craft villages, bringing the total number of craft villages in the province to 111. The value of small-scale industry and craft villages in 2011 reached 2,700 billion VND, an increase of 21% compared to 2010. Craft villages have attracted 24,574 regular workers, with an average income of 16.5 million VND/person/year, contributing to hunger eradication and poverty reduction, improving the lives of workers, and achieving the target of building new rural areas...
