Training on disseminating Vietnam - Laos border law

(Baonghean.vn) -On September 24, in Vinh city, the Central Propaganda Department presided over and coordinated with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Information and Communications, National Defense, Industry and Trade, Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Nghe An and Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committees to organize training on propaganda and dissemination of laws for key officials, village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people in the Vietnam-Laos border area in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

Comrade Truong Minh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, Member of the State Steering Committee on Border Demarcation and Marker Planting chaired the conference. Also attending were representatives of ministries, branches, Military Region 4 Command, Military Region 5 Command, leaders of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces and village elders, prestigious people in 8 districts, 36 communes in the border areas of Nghe An and Ha Tinh.

Conference overview

The conference on training, propaganda and dissemination of laws on the Vietnam-Laos border was organized based on the implementation of the propaganda plan on the results of the 2013 border demarcation and marker planting work of the Central Propaganda Department; implementing the agreement between the two delegations of the Vietnam-Laos border after the 22nd annual meeting and the results of the 5th round meeting of the Vietnam-Laos Joint Committee on Border Marker Planting in the field. This is the 5th and also the last conference organized by the Central Propaganda Department nationwide.

At the conference, the delegates listened to the reporters representing the leaders of Nghe An province, the leaders of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Border Guard Command, respectively discussing the following topics: The economic, social, defense, and security situation in the border area in Nghe An province; Introducing legal documents and regulations related to the Vietnam-Laos border and the results of the work of increasing and renovating the border marker system in the two countries; Results of Vietnam-Laos border trade cooperation in 2012, the third quarter of 2013, the cooperation plan for 2013 and regulations on border trade; Introducing the program of providing information on mountainous, remote, border, and island areas in the period of 2012-2015; The security situation on the Vietnam-Laos border and the results of the mass mobilization work of the Border Guard.
