Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs are a precious heritage of the people of Nghe An, created by our ancestors and passed down from generation to generation until today. In order to preserve and promote Vi and Giam folk songs, the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism have had many policies, focusing on organizing and building a network of clubs to spread and develop in localities in the province. From 2010-2011, Nghe An established 25 folk song clubs. In 2013, there were 69 folk song clubs, in 2014, there were 82 folk song clubs.

However, in the annual folk song festivals, the clubs are still not proactive in composing, mainly borrowing from professional authors, the team of non-professional authors at the grassroots level is still small and does not meet the operational needs of the clubs in the province. To create a team of authors at the grassroots level, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized a training course on methods of composing Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs.

The training course took place over 3 days from June 18-20 with 185 students from 14 districts, cities and towns in the province. The training course focused on the following contents: rhyme and melody methods; Methods of using instrumental music and musical instruments in performances; Some techniques of changing the melody; Methods of composing and editing performances; Methods of staging performances and programs guided by Musicians, Artists and specialized researchers.

The training course will be an opportunity for trainees to meet, exchange, learn, share experiences, and master basic knowledge to promote the movement of composing Vi and Giam folk songs. Thereby promoting the work of preserving and promoting the values of Vi and Giam folk songs more and more widely in the community, towards the event of UNESCO recognizing Nghe Tinh Vi and Giam folk songs as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.
