Training on community-based disaster risk management
(Baonghean) -Recently, the Center for International Research and Cooperation CECI coordinated with the Department of Education and Training of Quy Hop to organize a training course on community-based disaster risk management.
The main training contents are planning for disaster prevention and response, supporting the construction of early warning facilities for primary and secondary schools and the authorities of the three communes of Lien Hop, Chau Loc and Chau Dinh.
Natural disasters affect all communities, of which children are the most vulnerable, but they are also a large force in building a safer community against disasters. Therefore, educating and raising awareness for children is to increase understanding of disaster prevention and mitigation more effectively. Through funding the project "Building disaster prevention and response capacity for highland communities in Vietnam" to work with primary and secondary schools and authorities of 3 communes of Lien Hop, Chau Loc and Chau Dinh to implement the goal of improving capacity and awareness of prevention to reduce damage from natural disasters based on the community.
After this training session, schools in the three communes directly benefiting from the project will coordinate with the Center for International Research and Cooperation to plan and organize communication events on disaster prevention and response in their units.
