Focus on solutions to restructure state-owned enterprises

(Baonghean.vn) - On October 6, in Hanoi, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh worked with the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc on the operations of economic groups, state-owned corporations, financial institutions and banks in the Bloc.

According to the report of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprise Bloc, in the 5-year period (2011-2015), the production and business situation of the units under the Party Committee of the Bloc was maintained, had a good growth rate, effective production and business; basically preserved and developed the State capital and assets in the assigned enterprises.

However, in 2016 and the period 2016-2020, it is forecasted that there will be many difficulties and challenges for the operations of corporations, general companies and banks in the Bloc. With the experience of overcoming the financial and economic crisis of the period 2010-2015, the entire Party Committee of the Bloc together with nearly 1 million workers at enterprises are determined to overcome all difficulties, strive to complete and exceed the targets set in the Resolution of the Congress of the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc for the term 2015-2020.

In his speech, Head of the Central Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh highly appreciated the results in Party building work and in the activities and production and business of the units in the Party Committee; making important contributions to the overall achievements of the country. Some shortcomings and limitations are still persistent, therefore, he suggested that the Party Committee of the Bloc should propose solutions to overcome them in the coming time, focusing on solutions in restructuring enterprises, improving management capacity, modernizing technology, and increasing the application of new technology.

Party committees at all levels in the Party Committee of the Bloc must lead and direct enterprises to successfully restructure, improve production and business efficiency, and competitiveness of enterprises, and fulfill the leading role of State-owned enterprises. The Central Enterprise Bloc must fulfill its role as the core force of the State economy, so that the State economy can play a leading role in the socialist-oriented market economy in our country.

In addition, Head of the Committee Nguyen Van Binh also said that the activities of the Party Committee of the Bloc still have limitations and shortcomings, making the role of the Party Committee of the Bloc in the activities of enterprises not commensurate with its functions and tasks. He suggested that the Party Committee of the Central Enterprises Bloc needs to be resolute in renewing its thinking and actions to overcome limitations and weaknesses; focusing on 11 key tasks, to contribute to the successful implementation of the socio-economic development targets set by the 12th National Party Congress.
