Focus on building Nghe An Tourism brand
(Baonghean.vn) -Nghe An tourism is bustling during the “main season”. Comparing with the indicators and targets set for 2012 and the following years, the province’s tourism activities need to seriously acknowledge some existing limitations.
For the past 10 years, Nghe An tourism has been receiving attention and direction for development from the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, demonstrated through the issuance of programs, projects, resolutions and most recently Resolution 05 of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on Nghe An tourism development in the period 2011 - 2020. However, objectively speaking, Nghe An tourism is still having difficulty keeping up with the general development in the region and the whole country. Resolution 05 also pointed out the risks of tourism environment degradation in some tourist areas and spots...
The biggest reason is still the difficult socio-economic conditions of the province, limited investment resources for tourism development, especially infrastructure, not yet invested in attracting national and international tourism projects; the quality of internal activities is not high. To overcome the above problems, it requires strong and synchronous movements in both thinking and action of all levels, sectors, localities, units... but first of all, it is necessary to "rethink" the tourism potential and advantages of Nghe An in order to make adjustments to build feasible short-term and long-term goals to have the most effective solutions to exploit potential and make the best use of advantages.
To exploit the potential, we must turn that potential into a tourism product with all three elements: tourism resources, infrastructure, and tourism service facilities. Cua Lo tourism was once considered one of the most ideal beaches in the North, and is also associated with pilgrimage tourism to the Kim Lien relic site of Uncle Ho's hometown. However, the potential risk of degradation of the tourism environment will be a big challenge if we do not pay attention to planning, management and seriously implement planning management, or poor management of service facilities... will gradually cause part of the image and quality of Cua Lo's destination to be lost.
Previously, when tourism experts and foreign tourist groups came to Cua Lo, they were all surprised by the phenomenon of "concretization", especially the speed of development of accommodation facilities, many projects with large scale but unreasonable here... There is also a current situation, which is that the operation of the electric car fleet is leading to the situation of "one service, two prices" in Cua Lo. That is, the situation of soliciting and transporting passengers to earn commission, forcing services to increase prices, sometimes double to "return the kickback"... If Cua Lo does not focus on solving this situation soon, the goal of building the Cua Lo beach tourism brand will be affected in the immediate future.
Tourism promotion and advertising activities, if done well, will contribute significantly to creating an effective development step for the province's tourism in the near future, making each guest a promotional channel for themselves when they have the opportunity to return. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong - Director of Nghe An Tourism Promotion Center, on the basis of diversifying forms of tourism promotion, it is necessary to pay attention to promotion through electronic media. The Center has sought the support of the General Department of Tourism to promote Nghe An tourism to the international market, especially countries in the region. Proactively cooperate with tourism in the North Central provinces to enhance the position and link Nghe An tourism in the inter-regional product chain.
Thus, to have comprehensive and synchronous movements to focus on building Nghe An Tourism brand, it still requires high attention and direction from the management Department, the province to help the industry, localities and tourism businesses... to overcome current difficulties and problems.
