Focus on the work of the Congress of Ethnic Minorities at district and provincial levels

Regarding the results of implementing ethnic programs and policies, first of all, Program 135 with a capital plan for the year of 179,081 million VND, organizing the implementation of 3 sub-projects including: Supporting infrastructure investment; Improving capacity for communities and grassroots cadres in extremely disadvantaged communes, border communes, safe zone communes, extremely disadvantaged villages and hamlets; Project to support production development, diversify livelihoods and replicate poverty reduction models.

At the same time, implement policies according to Government Decisions such as Specific policies to support socio-economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the period of 2017 - 2020; support for preserving the culture of ethnic minorities; policies for prestigious people in ethnic minorities...

The key task of ethnic work in 2019 is determined to proactively implement Resolution 26 of the Politburo and Resolutions and Decisions of the Government on ethnic policies. Effectively implement policies and projects approved by the Prime Minister such as the Project to support socio-economic development of ethnic minorities in the period 2016-2025; Project to promote dissemination, legal education and propaganda, mobilization of ethnic minorities and mountainous areas in the period 2017-2021...

Improve the effectiveness of legal dissemination and education; strengthen inspection of the implementation of policies and projects, and prevent corruption and waste. Coordinate to resolve urgent and sensitive issues, and prevent "hot spots" of security and order.

At the conference, delegates discussed the assessment of the effectiveness of ethnic work and policies, typically the role of the Ethnic Committee in implementing Program 135; reducing the situation of early marriage and consanguineous marriage among ethnic minorities; propaganda and dissemination of laws; promoting the role of prestigious people, etc.

In his closing speech at the conference, Comrade Luong Thanh Hai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Ethnic Minorities Committee noted that the tasks in 2019 focus on the work of the Congresses of ethnic minorities at district and provincial levels; promoting the preservation of ethnic cultural identity; strengthening inspection and supervision of the implementation of ethnic policies.

On this occasion, 9 collectives and 19 individuals were awarded by the Head of the Ethnic Committee for their outstanding achievements in implementing ethnic work and ethnic policies in 2018.
