National U19 team gathering on August 9

Today (August 7), the General Department of Sports and Physical Training decided to gather the National U19 team to prepare to participate in the Southeast Asian U19 Football Championship (AFF) 2012, hosted by Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City from September 2 to September 8.

Accordingly, under the leadership of head coach Mai Duc Chung, the National U19 team will gather again on August 9 at Ham Rong Sports Center, Gia Lai. In this gathering, in addition to the familiar faces that have formed the main frame of the team such as goalkeeper Van Lam, defender Ngoc Hai, Minh Hai, midfielder Sy Sam and striker Xuan Nam, Dinh Thang, the National U19 coaching staff also welcomes the return of central defender Duy Khanh after a long period of injury treatment. In particular, the team will have talented midfielder Nguyen Thai Sung - a player who grew up from the talent search program "Football Dream" and has just returned from Qatar's Aspire training center.
The 2012 Southeast Asian U19 Championship will take place at Thong Nhat Stadium, Ho Chi Minh City from September 2 to September 8. With the main purpose of serving the two U19 teams of the region, Vietnam and Thailand, to compete in preparation for the 2012 Asian U19 finals, the tournament will not gather all the U19 teams of Southeast Asia, instead, there will be two quality guest teams, U19 Australia and U19 Uzbekistan. However, because U19 Thailand withdrew at the last minute, AFF invited U19 Iran to replace them./.
