Missing Khanh Hoa fishing boat found sunk in Vung Tau sea
Fishermen from Ba Ria - Vung Tau discovered a fishing boat from Khanh Hoa province that had sunk at noon on January 11, about 160 nautical miles from Vung Tau.

On January 12, Mr. Luong Truong Phi - Deputy Director of the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region III (based in Vung Tau City) said that fishermen in Ba Ria - Vung Tau discovered a fishing boat from Khanh Hoa province that had sunk at noon on January 11, the location of the sunken boat was about 160 nautical miles from Vung Tau. Fishermen reported that they discovered the fishing boat was only floating at the bow, and there was no one around when searching.
The ship with 10 fishermen on board left port on December 27, 2018. After three days at sea, the ship owner on land lost contact with the fishermen and it is unclear when the ship sank.
The Maritime Search and Rescue Center of Region III has issued a notice requesting ships operating in the area to increase observation and detect information related to fishermen on the fishing boat in distress.
