US Navy ship visits Da Nang

On August 17, the US Navy's hospital ship USNS Mercy (T-AH19) and Joint High Speed Transport Ship USNS Millinocket (JHSV-3) with more than 1,000 military and civilian personnel docked at Tien Sa Port (Da Nang City) to implement the Pacific Partnership Program 2015 (PP 2015).

Welcoming the ship and crew at Tien Sa port were representatives of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the Department of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of National Defense), the Command of Military Region 5, the Command of Naval Region 3, the Command of the Border Guard of Da Nang City, the Military Command of Da Nang City, the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City...

The PP 2015 program took place in Da Nang (from August 17 to 28) and included many activities such as: Medical exchanges and seminars on common diseases, orthopedic surgery techniques and military care; disaster relief drills; training in rescue skills for rescue workers (Son Tra Peninsula Management Board and Da Nang tourist beaches); dental care for people (Hoa Nhon and Hoa Phong communes, Hoa Vang district); repair of Hoa Quy Ward Health Station (Ngu Hanh Son district), Hope Village (Association for the Protection of Poor and Unfortunate Children and Women, Da Nang City).

In addition, the PP 2015 Program also organizes sports exchanges with Danang University and the Danang City People's Committee Office. The US 7th Fleet Band will also perform for the people of Danang City.

The PP 2015 program, organized by the US Government in coordination with Vietnamese authorities in Da Nang, is one of the important events celebrating the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United States (1995-2015).
