At the above time, TN SE5 train traveling from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City was preparing to cross the level crossing at km 266+100 when suddenly a truck with license plate 37C 09628 carrying 3 cows rushed across the level crossing, causing the unified train to crash into the truck and drag it for 100 meters. Because the truck was "stuck" tightly to the front of the train, the two people sitting in the truck, Nguyen Anh Quan and Tran Xuan Bach, were slightly injured.
