Train hits car, 3 people escape death

(Baonghean.vn) - At around 1:30 p.m. on August 9, at the intersection of the North-South railway with the residential road in Nghi Long commune (Nghi Loc district), a traffic accident occurred between a train and a car. Fortunately, the three people in the car escaped.

According to many witnesses, at that time, a 4-seat car with license plate 37A-084.53 (driver's identity unknown) was traveling from Vinh City to Nghi Loc on National Highway 1A, parallel to the train.

When reaching the residential road turning into Nghi Long commune (Nghi Loc district), the car driver did not observe the approaching train and was suddenly hit from behind by the train.

The strong collision caused the 4-seater car to spin back. After the incident, the train driver made an emergency stop to handle the problem.

At the scene of the accident, the rear of the 4-seater car was crushed and fell into a cornfield on the side of the road. The horn sign system and the railway crossing warning sign were also broken. Fortunately, the driver, a 12-year-old girl and a young man in the car were not injured.

The accident caused traffic on National Highway 1A to be blocked for about 15 minutes. Upon receiving the report, the Nghi Loc District Traffic Police quickly arrived at the scene to regulate traffic and investigate the cause of the accident.

At 4:00 p.m. on August 9, the accident car was being removed from the scene by rescue forces.

Many residents reported that the location of the accident is a black spot for traffic accidents as this is an area where a residential road intersects with a railway with a large number of people and vehicles participating in traffic but there are no barriers or guards to limit accidents.
