Trains increase trips, reduce ticket prices on April 30 holiday
Vietnam Railways will add 90 trains to serve people's travel needs during the April 30 holiday, while also reducing ticket prices on many trains.
According to the service plan for the April 30 - May 1 holiday just announced by Vietnam Railways Corporation, in addition to daily trains, there will be 84 additional trips on the North - South route (Hanoi - Saigon) and 6 trips on other routes.
Specifically, trains will be increased and more carriages will be added to the main trains. In the North, there are routes from Hanoi to Da Nang, Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), Vinh (Nghe An), Hai Phong, Lao Cai, Dong Dang; Gia Lam - Quan Trieu; Vinh - Dong Hoi; Dong Hoi - Hue. In the South, there are routes from Saigon to Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh), Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Phan Thiet (Binh Thuan).

Hanoi Railway Transport Company also offers discounts on passenger trains SE7/8, SE21/22, SE25/26, from March 24 to April 20 and May 5-20. On trains SE5/6 (Hanoi - Saigon), SE19/20 (Hanoi - Da Nang), NA1/2 (Hanoi - Vinh), a hard-seat car will be reserved to sell tickets at a 20% discount compared to the regulations.
Saigon Railway Transport Company has reduced ticket prices on passenger trains SE7/8, SE21/22, SE25/26 from March 24 to April 20 and from May 4 to 20. Train SE7/8 (Hanoi - Saigon) has reserved a hard-seat car to sell tickets at a 20% discount for distances over 750 km for train SE7, and over 800 km for train SE8. Train SE21/22 (Hue - Saigon) also has reserved a hard-seat car for similar discounted tickets for distances over 750 km.
Meanwhile, Mien Dong bus station forecasts that this year's transport volume will increase by about 3% compared to the same period last year, with passengers mainly concentrated on short-medium routes and entertainment areas from Da Nang city, the Central Highlands region to the South; the Western region and especially routes to tourist centers such as Vung Tau, Da Lat, Phan Thiet, Nha Trang...
According to the leader of the largest bus station in Ho Chi Minh City, the surcharge to compensate for empty trips will not exceed 40%. The time for transport businesses to calculate the surcharge is from April 26 to 30. The number of passengers passing through the station will increase during peak days from April 27 to 29. More than 1,000 trips will be added during these days./.
