"Vietnam's Kilo 636 submarine contributes to protecting sovereignty"
On November 7, Russia will hand over to Vietnam the first Kilo 636 submarine out of a total of six under the contract signed in 2009. This event is the focus of attention of international military and political analysts.

In an interview with Voice of Russia, expert Viktor Litovkin said that the difference in Vietnam's Kilo 636 submarines is that they are equipped with the latest Club-S missile system. This is the most fearsome weapon for all types of warships today.
“The Club-S missile system equipped on Vietnam’s Kilo 636 submarines is a very versatile and unique weapon. It can fire anti-surface cruise missiles or be used to attack shore targets. This system uses supersonic missiles with great destructive power, completely capable of disabling an aircraft carrier with just one missile.
And most importantly, to date, it is impossible to intercept these missiles with anti-missile defense means,” – said military analyst Viktor Litovkin.
Expert Viktor Litovkin emphasized that owning Kilo 636 submarines with many outstanding advantages will significantly strengthen the Vietnamese navy, contributing to protecting sovereignty at sea.
The Club-S complex can use different types of missiles, suitable for each target.
The Club-S complex can launch two missiles at the same time. They have complex flight trajectories that can avoid the enemy's multi-layered missile defense system, and are capable of distinguishing and coordinating their operations with each other: either rushing in together to completely destroy a large, important target such as an aircraft carrier, or dividing to destroy each target individually.
Experts note that the Club-S missile system is very powerful and not every country is provided by Russia to install it on Kilo submarines. Currently, apart from the Russian Navy, only 3 countries are equipped with this missile system for submarines purchased from Russia, including: India, Algeria and Vietnam./.
