Meanwhile, metal cutting for the sixth Kilo submarine has also been carried out by the Admiralty Vefi factory since early February 2013.

The Kilo 636 submarine is likened by Western military experts to a 'black hole' under the ocean because of its ability to operate secretly, making it difficult for enemy submarines and anti-submarine aircraft to detect.

Underwater, it can travel at a speed of 20 knots, equivalent to 37km/h, operate at an average depth of 240m and can dive to a maximum depth of 300m.

Thanks to the main electric engine with a capacity of 5,500 horsepower, the ship's operating range reaches nearly 10,000km, and can dive continuously for 700km.

The ship can carry a crew of 52 people and operate autonomously for 45 days.

The main weapons of the Kilo submarine are Kaliber supersonic cruise missiles, 533mm torpedoes, sea mines and a number of other weapons.
