Boycotting the Winter Olympics in Russia is a return to the Cold War
Latvian President Andris Berzins on December 17 defended his plans to attend the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi and accused those calling for a boycott of the event of having a "Cold War" mentality.
"People... forget the long-standing Olympic principle that even wars must be postponed (during the Games). We are returning to the Stone Age, or at best the Cold War," Berzins said on Latvian radio.
