Taylor Swift honored 'Woman of the Year'

"Country music princess" received the same title for the second time from America's leading music magazine - Billboard.

The title the female singer received was Billboard Woman of the Year. Taylor Swift became the first artist to receive this award twice in the magazine's history.

"As one of the most influential artists of her generation, Taylor Swift has had incredible success on the Billboard charts," said Janice Min, co-chairman and chief creative officer of Guggenheim Media, Billboard's parent company.

"Over the course of her career, Taylor has charted 60 times on the Billboard Hot 100 - the most of any female artist, since she entered the music scene in 2006. We are thrilled to present her with this honor for the second time," continued Janice Min.

According to the magazine, the annual award is given to "female artists who have shaped and pushed the music industry through their success, leadership and innovation in music over the past 12 months."

Taylor Swift has won seven Grammy Awards. She is the only female artist in music history to have two albums sell a million copies in their first week (Speak Now in 2010 and Red in 2012). Her latest single, Shake it Off, became her second number one on the Billboard Hot 100, following We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.

Taylor will receive the award at the "Women in Music Awards" event organized by Billboard on December 12 in New York, USA.
