Accordingly, this explosion caused a widespread fire, destroying the factory specializing in the production of explosives and ammunition as well as the responsibility of dismantling unexploded shells on the battlefield. On the morning of September 20 (local time), people in the Donetsk region around this factory heard a loud explosion, followed by a white cloud of smoke rising.

A local official told Ukraine's 112 TV channel that a shell had hit the factory.

Image of fire rising from the factory was cut from a clip posted on Youtube.

“A shell hit the 47th Explosives Plant, where some explosives were stored in warehouses. As a result, the plant exploded and caused a series of explosions. Fortunately, the incident did not occur in the main workshop, where we stored about 2.5 tons of explosives,” said Ivan Prikhod’ko, deputy chairman of the local council.

He added that the incident caused significant damage, but no one was injured because the plant was not operating at the time of the incident. In addition, the plant was built in an area far from residential areas to ensure the lives of people.

There has been no confirmed report on the type of weapon that caused the incident at the plant. However, many people rumored that the plant was hit by a Tochka-U tactical missile launched by government forces.
