Thanh broke into a building in the city center, stole something, and then fell asleep. |
District 1 Police, Ho Chi Minh City has just temporarily detained Pham Minh Thanh (born 1978, residing in Thu Duc District) to investigate and handle the act of property theft.
Previously, on the evening of April 2, Thanh brought a bag containing a crowbar, hammer, chisel, rope, gloves, clothes, etc. and took a motorbike taxi to the Saigon Trade Center building (37 Ton Duc Thang, Ben Nghe ward, District 1) with the intention of stealing.
On the 11th floor, this person used a crowbar to pry open the door to a room. After searching for property, Thanh continued to open doors, chisel ceilings, and enter other rooms to look for valuables.
When he saw the safe in the corner of the room, Thanh used a tool to break it open but found no valuables. The young man then took 4 laptops and 1 valuable camera, put them in a bag and intended to take them away.
However, because the process of opening the door and breaking the wall was tiring, Thanh put his bag on the ceiling, changed his clothes, and then went to sleep.
Early the next morning, the cleaning lady came to the office to clean and found Thanh, so she reported to the security guard to restrain him and hand over the evidence to the police. Thanh said that he had been to the building before and knew that there were many valuable assets, so he had the intention of breaking in and stealing them.
