'Terminator: Genisys' - the deadly beauty of the new terminator
The latest installment of the James Cameron film series brings back the iconic Terminator character using computer technology.
In 1984, James Cameron's Terminator was released, kicking off a massive sci-fi series. In 2006, the popular series was voted 17th on IGN magazine's list of "25 Greatest Film Series of All Time." Two years later, the American Film Institute chose to archive the series for its cultural, aesthetic, and historical significance. This year, the latest installment - Terminator: Genisys - was released amid the anticipation of millions of fans across generations.
The plot of the new movie is not too complicated. Terminator: Genisys opens with a future setting, leader John Connor leads humanity to fight against the robots that are dominating the world. When the robots are about to lose, they send a Terminator robot back in time to destroy John's mother, Sarah Connor. John Connor also sends another soldier back in time to protect his mother. But in the present, Sarah Connor enters a new war. She and a close robot are preparing to carry out a mission to destroy the evil boss robot before it is born.

The Terminators have steel bodies covered in human skin, with a deadly, naked beauty that makes the Terminator series come to life. In the new episode, both good and evil robots come back to life on screen thanks to special effects. Computer graphics technology makes viewers immediately impressed at the beginning of the film by the indestructible robots, always surviving even when shot in the eye, or fired at with a mortar in the chest. The seemingly invincible biological robots can walk through fire, jump through cars, crash through planes, and show off their shiny steel core bodies, moving flexibly to shoot and kill humans.
The plus point of Terminator: Genisys is a series of thrilling action scenes. Right from the beginning, the film takes viewers into the scene of a world on the brink of destruction in a brutal, fierce war with machines. Then, the film takes the audience on a time travel when both the human and robot factions send representatives to the past to destroy each other. The eye-catching, thrilling chases, hand-to-hand combat, and shooting scenes continuously make fans immerse themselves in the world of the film until the end.
Thanks to computer graphics technology, the action scenes between machines and humans become realistic, breathtaking but without any offensive blood. To increase the intensity of the film's atmosphere, the screenwriters used large-caliber machine gun shots and violent explosions. Satisfying fans with fierce, muscular action scenes, Terminator: Genisys makes even regular theatergoers admire the development of the special effects industry in the film capital.

Returning to the silver screen after two terms as governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger returns to his role as an aging, malfunctioning but courageous bio-robot hero who loves humans and learns to live with them. Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke makes her big screen debut and brings a strong, wild look. Emilia Clarke's performance is convincing, although in some places it is not as soft and feminine as it should be.
The character of the Terminator T-1000 - played by Korean actor Lee Byung Hun - made the strongest impression. Although he did not appear much on screen, Lee Byung Hyun's evil Terminator caused terror because of the transformation of his body made of synthetic metal that can be liquefied.

Overall, the acting of the A-list stars in action scenes or in emotional and humorous scenes is good. Many lines that have been associated with the series are said at the right time, helping the characters become more heroic and have depth. The iconic line of the Terminator character played by Arnold: "Hasta la vista, baby" (I will be back) also appears in the new film, evoking a nostalgic atmosphere for fans.
