(Baonghean.vn) -In the days leading up to the Lunar New Year, in addition to their duty of maintaining peace for the people to enjoy the Spring Festival, Nghe An border guards actively donated and urgently brought meaningful Tet gifts to share with the hardships of people in remote areas.
Following the officers and soldiers of Tri Le Border Post, we visited the family of Tho Y Xa in D1 village, Minh Chau economic zone, Tri Le commune, Que Phong district. Despite being informed in advance, Ms. Xa still took the opportunity to go to the field to "find some vegetables and porridge". Her family is in a particularly difficult situation, the house is small and dilapidated, there are no valuable items in the house, and nothing has been prepared for Tet. A few years ago, her husband suffered from a serious illness and passed away. Raising 4 children alone, the difficulties piled up on her shoulders. Receiving the Tet gifts from the hands of the border officers and soldiers, she could not hold back her tears, moved: "My family thanks you very much, my children and I have rice to eat, candy to celebrate Tet".
Leaving Ms. Xa's family, we went to Mr. Tho Tong Po's family in D2 village, Tri Le commune. Mr. Po's family is not much better than Ms. Xa's. The small house with a corrugated iron roof is home to 10 people. The crop failed, so his family often had no meals. Mr. Po lamented: "Oh my! We can't even feed them, let alone think about Tet." Receiving the gift in his hand, Mr. Po held the hand of Captain Nguyen Ngoc Tan, deputy political commissar of Tri Le Border Post, and shook it: this year our family has Tet!
Captain Tan said: Ms. Xa and Mr. Po's families are only 2 of 15 families in Tri Le commune receiving Tet gifts this time. We organized to give all the gifts to the people before December 25.
Giving Tet gifts to poor families in Tri Le commune, Que Phong district
Talking with Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Kim Dong - Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of Nghe An Border Guard, we learned that: Along the entire Vietnam - Laos border, there are 27 border communes in 6 districts of Que Phong, Ky Son, Tuong Duong, Con Cuong, Anh Son and Thanh Chuong, which are the most difficult places in the province, although the Party, State, all levels, sectors and localities have policies focusing on prioritizing capital sources to build infrastructure, develop production, and reduce poverty. However, due to the low starting point, harsh natural conditions... the development speed of the border communes is slow, and they are still facing many difficulties; people's lives are still lacking, the poverty rate is high, and many families do not have the conditions to celebrate the traditional New Year of the nation. To share the difficulties with the people, on this Lunar New Year occasion, Nghe An Border Guard has a policy of giving a total of 405 gifts to poor households, policy families, and families in difficult circumstances. The total value of gifts this time is over 120 million VND, taken from the savings of the Border Guard Command and the grassroots units. In addition, we also rely on the generosity and sharing of difficulties with the people of the officers and soldiers stationed in the border areas to buy Tet gifts for policy families, the poor, and hungry in the area. In preparing to give gifts, we also directed the grassroots units to coordinate with the locality to carefully survey the most difficult families to give gifts. Avoid the situation where some families receive many gift programs, while others do not, with the aim of making sure every family has a Tet.
Colonel Nguyen Viet Ha - Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard, shared: In the past time, although the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard are still facing many difficulties, with the spirit of "sharing food and clothes", they have carried out many meaningful and practical activities for the people in the border areas. In particular, the Border Guard units stationed in the areas continue to help people build effective household economic models; Deploy help for 3 poor communes: Tam Hop (Tuong Tuong district); Mon Son (Con Cuong district) and Bac Ly (Ky Son district) according to the assignment of the Provincial People's Committee. The activity of giving gifts to poor households on the occasion of the Lunar New Year once again shows the affection, responsibility and gratitude of the officers and soldiers of the Provincial Border Guard of Nghe An towards the people of all ethnic groups in the border areas. We strive with all levels and sectors to support, help and share so that each person and each family, no matter how small, can have a happy and warm New Year.
