This year, to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Paris Agreement, the Government of Vietnam and the French Republic are organizing the “Year of France in Vietnam” and following 2014, the “Year of Vietnam in France”. Because of this significance, the Lunar New Year of Quy Ty is considered the first large-scale activity in a series of events that will be held consecutively in France, especially in the capital city of Paris.
VWith the policy of helping overseas Vietnamese return to the Fatherland according to the time zone of their homeland, the Vietnamese Embassy in France organizes a Gala Music Festival on the evening of February 8, 2013 (ie 28th of Tet) from 6:30 pm. The guests of this performance are artists and intellectuals representing the French community, who will be present from 6 pm (ie 11 pm Vietnam time) to welcome the New Year together: famous singer Le Quyen - the first queen of pop music of Vietnam, a voice loved by many generations of audiences at home and abroad.
Poet and musician Nguyen Vinh Tien flew in from the southern city of Toulouse, where he is studying for a doctorate in architecture, to sing his songs:my grandmother,Dew drops fly up,River, don't flow!The program also features the Osta Nguyet Anh ethnic music group and the Lion Dance team from Lyon.
On the evening of February 9, 2013 (New Year's Eve), the Vietnamese Cultural Center in France (CCV) - located at 19 Albert Street, District 13, Paris, organized the programVietnamese traditional New Yearfrom 15:00 (ie 20:00 Vietnam time).
Participating in the program, Nguyen Vinh Tien will sing for the audience and play his own guitar song:Brown Sparrows,ProvincialandAfternoon Dream(music: Giang Son) with lyrics by him. Famous singer Le Quyen will sing:Little Spring(music: Tran Hoan, poetry: Thanh Hai),The sea sings this afternoon(Hong Dang),Simple things(Phu Quang),Sound of waves(Duong Thu). The program also has songs:Hometown(music: Giap Van Thach, poetry: Do Trung Quan),Dakrong River in Spring(To Hai) performed by Tang Trung Hieu. Led by director Le Hong Chuong (former director of the Central Documentary & Scientific Film Studio), CCV, although only established a few years ago, has been operating actively, continuously and effectively. All programs here are free, with an attractive format, attracting a large number of overseas Vietnamese, international students and French friends who are increasingly attached to Vietnamese culture.
