Lunar New Year holiday is 9 days off
Considering the proposal of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, on December 27, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung agreed to swap holidays during the 2012 Lunar New Year holiday for cadres, civil servants and public employees.
Specifically, during the Lunar New Year 2012, cadres, civil servants and public employees will take a day off on Friday, January 27, 2012 (ie the 5th day of the first lunar month) and work as a compensatory day on Saturday, February 4, 2012 (ie the 13th day of the first lunar month). Thus, during this year's Lunar New Year, cadres, civil servants and public employees will have 9 consecutive days off, from January 21, 2012 (Saturday) to January 29, 2012 (Sunday).
The Prime Minister authorized the Minister of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to announce the implementation of holiday swapping during the 2012 Lunar New Year holiday. For agencies and organizations that do not implement a fixed two-day holiday schedule of Saturday and Sunday every week, they will base on the specific program and plan of the unit to arrange a suitable holiday schedule.
