(Baonghean) -On the morning of January 22, in the warm sunshine of the last day of the year, the kind hearts of Nghe An Telecom, Ban Ve Hydropower Company and Nghe An Newspaper came to the people in the resettlement areas of Ngoc Lam and Thanh Son communes (Thanh Chuong), bringing gifts, bringing an early Tet to the people...

Ngoc Lam and Thanh Son communes in the resettlement area of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant in Thanh Chuong have nearly 90% poor households, with an average income per capita of only over 6 million VND/year. The area for growing corn, rice, and peanuts in Thanh Son commune is currently just over 60 hectares. The main crop is cassava with a total area of 450 hectares, but the income from commercial cassava is low, so the poverty rate here is very high... As part of the propaganda and mobilization program, acting as a bridge for units and individuals with kind hearts to coordinate to support and help those in especially difficult circumstances on the morning of January 22, a delegation of Nghe An Newspaper, Nghe An Telecommunications and Ban Ve Hydropower Company made a journey to bring small gifts, bringing a warm Tet to people in the resettlement area of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant.

From early morning, at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Ngoc Lam commune, all the people had gathered. Walking 3 km of mountain road from Kim Hong village (Ngoc Lam commune), Ms. Luong Thi Khoa arrived at the headquarters of the People's Committee of the commune very early. Since the village chief informed her that her family would receive Tet gifts from benefactors, she and her child could not sleep all night. Her husband died early, she raised her child alone, and had to drop out of school until grade 9 due to illness. Now, because of her old age, she does not have strong legs to climb mountains to work in the fields, grow cassava and corn, so her family's life is very difficult. Now receiving Tet gifts from benefactors, she emotionally said: "Thank you to the Party, the State and the agencies. So this year the family has money to buy meat and fish."

Leaders of Nghe An Newspaper and Nghe An Telecommunications visited people of Ngoc Lam commune (Thanh Chuong).

Mr. Vi Xi Thon in Nhan Mai village (Ngoc Lam commune) is 80 years old this year, confided: My family has 3 generations, including my son and his wife, 2 young grandchildren and my grandparents only rely on my son and his wife. Every day he carries a basket on his shoulder to dig cassava in the forest to sell to the purchasing point at the beginning of the village, earning a few tens of thousands of dong, enough to buy rice and simple food for the whole family of 6. I am old, with many illnesses, I only stay at home to take care of my grandchildren, but I wish that the family has enough food and clothes. Receiving the Tet gift bag from the working group, he was so moved that he could not speak...

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - Director of Ban Ve Hydropower Company said that this year, the Company prepared 150 Tet gifts for the people, this is an annual activity of the company for many years on the occasion of Lunar New Year and July 27 to share some of the difficulties with the people in the resettlement area of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant. According to Mr. Lo Hoai Dung - Chairman of Ngoc Lam Commune People's Committee, the whole commune has 1,347 households, of which 1,229 are poor households. From the communes in the reservoir area of Ban Ve Hydropower Plant in Tuong Duong District, resettled here, people are struggling to work in their new hometown, so they often go hungry. However, recently, with the joint efforts of Nghe An Newspaper - a bridge for kind-hearted businesses with kind hearts, it has partly helped the people reduce their difficulties and feel warmer.

The working group continued to visit the people of Thanh Son commune. Along with many people who were present at the commune headquarters to welcome the group, Mr. Ven Van Xuan in Thanh Binh village smiled brightly, shook the guests' hands and said emotionally: "So my family has a happy Tet this year". The family has 11 members, but Mr. Xuan and his wife only depend on their children's fields. Now he is 64 years old, constantly sick, his wife is blind in both eyes, for many years, his family has not had a proper Tet. Hearing that he will receive Tet gifts from the working group, he just hopes to have someone to share the joy with... Meanwhile, Mrs. Luong Thi Mai in Hanh Tien village was moved to tears when she learned that she would receive a warm blanket.

The joy of people when receiving gifts.

Coming to the people of two poor communes with 100 warm blankets, Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy - Director of Nghe An Telecommunications, emotionally said: "Only when coming here do we know how difficult and hard our people are. Continuing the tradition of Nghe An Telecommunications, we have taken from the welfare fund and contributions from officers and employees in the agency to support and help people overcome difficulties. In the future, we will make more efforts to have a regular source of support to help people reduce difficulties and stabilize their lives."

Witnessing the activities of the working delegation, Mr. Vo Van Tien - Vice Chairman of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee, acknowledged the contributions of businesses and philanthropists to the people in the resettlement area, thereby really supporting the local Party Committee and government in leading, managing, propagating and mobilizing people to build their lives in the new homeland. Mr. Tien also emphasized the role of Nghe An Newspaper in the past time, paying attention to all activities and lives of the people in the two resettlement communes, propagating and orienting organizations and individuals to help. Recently, on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the first issue, Nghe An Newspaper, together with Intimex Joint Stock Company, visited, gave gifts and interacted with the people, leaving a good impression of the work of the party newspaper.
