Releasing 0.7 tons of fish fry into Hua Na hydroelectric reservoir (Que Phong)

(Baonghean.vn) -Responding to the week of aquatic resources regeneration in 2013, on the morning of September 12, at Thong Thu commune, Que Phong, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Exploitation and Protection of Aquatic Resources of Nghe An coordinated with Que Phong district to release various types of fish fry into the Hua Na hydroelectric reservoir.

The quantity of fish released this time is about 0.7 tons of various types, supplied by the Department of Aquaculture Resources of the province according to Decision No. 09/2011/QD-UB of the Provincial People's Committee.

After the Hua Na hydropower dam was built, fishing and fish farming in the hydropower reservoir area developed quite well, creating jobs for hundreds of workers in the two communes of Thong Thu and Dong Van. Particularly in the Hua Na reservoir area, Thong Thu commune, at its peak, people exploited hundreds of tons of fish of all kinds every day; the commune received support from the project to invest in 25 cages for fish farming.... However, this is the first time a large amount of fish fry has been released into Hua Na reservoir to regenerate aquatic resources.
