World junior weightlifting champion named in weightlifting's world leading magazine.

Continuously achieving excellent results at the world youth tournament and world championship, weightlifter Thach Kim Tuan was honored to appear on the cover of World Weightlifting Magazine No. 132.

At the 2014 World Youth Weightlifting Championships held in mid-June in Kazan (Russia), Vietnamese weightlifters impressed with three gold medals, along with two records in the 133 kg snatch and 293 kg total. In a special review of the tournament, the world youth champion in the men's 56 kg category was honored among the young champions honored by the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).

With outstanding achievements such as 2010 World Youth Olympic gold medal, 2014 World Youth Championship, 2013 World Championship bronze medal, Kim Tuan was chosen by IWF as the representative image for the Kazan Youth Tournament.

However, he himself did not know that he was on the cover of the magazine as well as receiving the title of Outstanding Athlete of the World Youth Championships in Russia. It was not until early August that IWF President Tamas Ajan was in Hungary to present the title to Thach Kim Tuan, and the above magazine was also a publication that the Federation sent to the participating delegations.

Weightlifter Thach Kim Tuan was honored to appear in IWF's weightlifting magazine after winning the world youth championship.

In this issue of the magazine, there is a separate article about the star of the Vietnamese weightlifting community, when Kim Tuan continuously sets many proud achievements and records despite being only 22 years old. The article states that the 27th SEA Games champion will become a bright star of the world weightlifting community and a strong candidate for the gold medal in the men's 56 kg category at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Sharing with VnExpress, the 1994-born athlete happily said: "I have been filmed or interviewed by many foreign press and television agencies, but appearing on the cover of the world weightlifting magazine is a great honor. I have more motivation from that push and do not want to disappoint the guidance of Coach Huynh Huu Chi. The silver medals of ASIAD 17 or the achievements of one gold medal and two silver medals at the recent world championship are also the gifts I want to give to my teacher the most."

Coach Huynh Huu Chi added: "This is also the first time a Vietnamese weightlifter has appeared on the cover of the Federation's magazine. The pressure is even greater for Tuan because he has continuously defeated his Chinese opponent in the last two major tournaments and has become the main opponent of Om Yun Chol (North Korea). In the coming time, we must be more careful in training and improving our performance to serve the big goals in the upcoming important tournaments. However, weightlifting is different from other sports, not having to go to training to improve performance, but maintaining training and using supplementary medicine is the main thing."
