Thailand: Big explosion in shopping area of central Bangkok
Thai police said on the evening of February 1, two "homemade" bombs exploded near the busy Siam Paragon shopping area in central Bangkok, slightly injuring one man.
The explosion occurred at 8 p.m. (1 p.m. GMT) near the Siam Paragon shopping mall, which is popular with tourists and locals, police said. Initially, police believed it was an electrical short circuit.

However, later, Thai national police spokesman Prawut Thavornsiri said that investigations showed that two homemade explosive devices had exploded. "Two homemade bombs exploded on the walkway between Siam BTS sky train station and Siam Paragon shopping mall. They were hidden in electrical boxes," Prawut Thavornsiri said.
According to Mr. Prawut Thavornsiri, the investigation is still underway./.
