Pregnant woman committed suicide by drinking pesticide

(Baonghean) - On the afternoon of August 3, the Director of Yen Thanh General Hospital said that a pregnant woman died from drinking pesticide to commit suicide this morning, August 3.

At around 6am on August 3, her family discovered Ms. Lien (born in 1984, residing in Tien Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district, 8 months pregnant) lying on the bed with symptoms of convulsions and foaming at the mouth. Ms. Lien was quickly taken to the hospital by relatives for emergency treatment, but both mother and child died. Mr. Tran Van Hanh - Director of Yen Thanh District General Hospital said: "The hospital used all measures, but the amount of medicine taken was too much, the patient was admitted late in a state of vomiting, blurred vision... so there was no way to save her."
