Appraisal and recognition of Quynh Doi commune meeting new rural standards

The appraisal was attended by comrade Ho Ngoc Sy - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Head of the Steering Committee for the new rural program, and members of the Steering Committee for new rural construction of the province.

Quynh Doi is one of the key communes of Quynh Luu district striving to complete the new rural construction in 2014 and has now completed 19 criteria. To be recognized for the criteria, after 3 years, with the efforts of the Party Committee, government, mass organizations and people, many results have been achieved in building the new rural area.

Since 2012, Quynh Doi has invested in building infrastructure to serve the needs of socio-economic development, ensuring people's lives and completing the new rural construction program. Up to now, the poverty rate is 2.6%; the commune has 2 schools that both meet national standards. The rate of students completing all levels of education is 100%; the rate of laborers in the commune receiving vocational training is 50%. Quynh Doi commune is recognized as a commune that meets the health standards in phase 2.

There are 8/8 cultural villages in the commune. The commune has been recognized as a cultural commune for many consecutive years. Up to now, 100% of households in the commune have access to clean water. Environmental sanitation in production and business areas and residential areas is ensured; there are no production facilities causing environmental pollution; 100% of households have 3 standard sanitary facilities. The commune has a sanitation team that regularly collects waste. 8/8 villages have cultural houses for community activities; cemeteries are built according to planning. After conducting a field survey in the locality, the council met to evaluate and review each achieved criterion and the limitations that need to be overcome.

As a result, the members of the Provincial Appraisal Council agreed that Quynh Doi commune met the NTM standards. From this result, it will be the basis for the Appraisal Council to propose to the Provincial People's Committee to issue a decision recognizing Quynh Doi commune as meeting the NTM standards. In addition, the Appraisal Council proposed that Quynh Luu district and Quynh Doi commune complete a number of projects to move towards building a model New Rural commune of the province.
