(Baonghean.vn) - According to Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung: If there is a correct roadmap and direction, "Make in Vietnam" technology will reach the world and become a key economic sector contributing greatly to the national GDP.

4 “MASTERS” TO ACCELERATE NATIONAL DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION

Presenting a speech of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Information and Communications, comrade Nguyen Manh Hung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Information and Communications mentioned the topic: National digital transformation, development of digital government, digital economy and digital society to meet the requirements of national development in the new period.

According to the Minister of Information and Communications, Vietnam is one of the first countries in the world to issue a program or strategy on National Digital Transformation, making Vietnam a country with digital transformation awareness alongside advanced countries in the world.

This is a favorable condition for Vietnam to proactively exploit the opportunities brought about by the technological revolution and make a breakthrough to change its ranking.

More than 20 years ago, when it first connected to the Internet, Vietnam set its first “footprints” in a completely new space – cyberspace. Since then, Vietnam has come a long way in the country’s socio-economic development.

Comrade Nguyen Manh Hung said: Digital transformation is a comprehensive transformation from real space to digital space, allowing all activities to be brought to digital space.

This shift is taking place at a rapid pace along three pillars: Digital Government, Digital Economy and Digital Society. Like exploring new lands, the expansion of cyberspace will create space and open up new development space for the country.

2020 is identified as the year to launch national digital transformation. The whole society's awareness of digital transformation has changed dramatically. 2021 and the entire period of 2021 - 2025 will be an acceleration period with specific implementation actions for each industry, each field, each locality.

Referring to breakthrough solutions to accelerate national digital transformation, the head of the Ministry of Information and Communications raised 4 contents that Vietnam needs to "master".

That isdigital infrastructure; digital platforms; national cyberspace towards developing a safe, healthy, humane and widespread national cyberspace; “Make in Vietnam” production technology, aiming at the goal of forming Vietnamese digital technology enterprises with the capacity to go global.

“If there is a right roadmap and direction, “Make in Vietnam” technology will reach the world and become a key economic sector contributing greatly to the national GDP,” the Minister of Information and Communications emphasized and further analyzed: Vietnam masters technology, innovates technology, based on open technology, meets international standards, focuses on solving Vietnam's problems and from there reaches out to the world.

LARGE ECONOMY, MULTI-OWNERSHIP

On behalf of the Party Executive Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, speaking at the 13th National Party Congress, Comrade Tran Tuan Anh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Industry and Trade presented the content with the topic: "Enhancing the role and position of Vietnam in the global production network and value chain".

According to the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, to date, Vietnam has risen to become one of the countries with an industrial sector in the group of countries with average high global competitiveness. The global competitiveness of Vietnam's industry has increased by 16 places in 10 years, from 58th in 2009 to 42nd in 2019 (according to UNIDO rankings).

Vietnam has become the country with the fastest increase in rankings among ASEAN countries, approaching the 5th position in the region and getting closer to the group of 4 countries with the strongest competitiveness in ASEAN.

Up to now, our country has formed a number of key industries of the economy such as: oil and gas exploitation and processing; electronics, telecommunications, information technology; metallurgy, iron and steel; cement and construction materials; textiles, footwear; mechanical processing and manufacturing, automobiles, motorbikes..., creating an important foundation for long-term growth, as well as promoting the process of modernization and industrialization of the country.

In order to take advantage of this opportunity, helping Vietnam enhance its role and position in the global production network and value chain and develop sustainably, Minister of Industry and Trade Tran Tuan Anh emphasized: It is necessary to adhere to the consistent viewpoint that our Party has identified, which is: "External force is important, but internal force plays a decisive role".

Accordingly, the focus is on promoting restructuring, improving the internal capacity of industries; developing the domestic enterprise team, consolidating large, core enterprises in basic production and spearhead fields, especially those applying digital transformation and high technology.

In particular, encourage, support and promote the formation of large, multi-owned economic groups in the industrial sector, capable of competing in regional and world markets. Developing domestic private enterprises has truly become an important driving force for the country's industrial development.

Our country also focuses on synchronously and effectively implementing Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) that have come into effect, commitments in the WTO and the ASEAN Economic Community, especially the capacity to implement and realize signed FTAs ​​to expand export markets and effectively control imports.

At the discussion session this morning, the presentations also mentioned the following contents: promoting administrative reform; promoting the strength of the political system and the whole society in implementing the goal of sustainable poverty reduction in mountainous provinces and ethnic minority areas; educating revolutionary ideals, patriotism, nurturing ambitions and aspirations to rise up in the youth; promoting the potential and strengths of localities...
