Visit Uncle Ho Memorial House in Truong Sa
After several days at sea, the ship HQ996 blew its siren loudly. Truong Sa Lon Island gradually appeared in the middle of the ocean. Everyone eagerly rushed onto the deck. This was the first destination in the journey back to the sea and islands, so everyone was anxiously waiting for this moment.
At exactly 8:00 a.m., the ship docked. The island chief and chairman of the People's Committee of Truong Sa town - Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Luc and the soldiers and people on the island happily welcomed the working group. After a very firm handshake, our group was led to visit the Truong Sa Martyrs Memorial, Uncle Ho Memorial House, Truong Sa Pagoda... Everyone was moved to tears when they lit incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs and beloved Uncle Ho right on Truong Sa archipelago.
From afar, the Uncle Ho Memorial House looks like a pink lotus blooming in the middle of a sunny and windy island. According to the introduction of Lieutenant Cao Ngoc Son (manager of the Memorial House), the Uncle Ho Memorial House on Truong Sa Lon Island was inaugurated on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of his birth. The memorial area has a total area of over 700 square meters.

The memorial house has an architecture similar to that of communal houses and pagodas in the Northern region. Inside the memorial house, a bronze statue of Uncle Ho is placed in the middle of the main room, above which is displayed the immortal saying "Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom". The advice "The Hung Kings have built the country, we must work together to protect it" is engraved as two parallel sentences. Eight glass cabinets displaying documents about Uncle Ho's life and activities and the theme of Uncle Ho with the sovereignty of the sea and islands are placed on both sides, creating a solemn and cozy atmosphere.
Joining the crowd visiting the Memorial House, Ms. Ai Nghia, working at Dau Tieng Rubber Company, emotionally said: "I wish one day I could visit Uncle Ho's hometown, but I have not had the chance. Now that I can visit Uncle Ho's Memorial House right on Truong Sa Island, it has partly helped me fulfill this wish."
Mr. Bien Van Quang - Vice Chairman of Truong Sa Town People's Committee (from Kim Lien, Nam Dan) said: Uncle Ho Memorial House is a very meaningful gift that the Party Committee and the People's Government of Nghe An give to the army and people of Truong Sa island district. Since its inauguration (May 19, 2010) up to now, the Memorial House has welcomed over 2,000 visitors. Every working delegation going to Truong Sa archipelago visits Uncle Ho Memorial House.
Fishermen on boats and ships fishing in this sea area when stopping by the island to supply food and provisions, knowing that there is a memorial house for Uncle Ho on the island, also take the time to visit. This cultural work has a very important meaning, being a place for activities and traditional education for soldiers and people on the island, helping everyone to be aware of their responsibilities, to live, fight, study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh.
Every day, in addition to training and production hours, soldiers and people on the island spend time visiting the Memorial House, reading books and newspapers, and learning about Uncle Ho's life and activities through the documents displayed here. Under the shade of the square banyan tree, the grounds of Uncle Ho's Memorial House are always filled with the laughter of children on the island. With such great spiritual values, this cultural work is truly a source of encouragement, motivation, and a solid spiritual support for cadres, soldiers and people on Truong Sa archipelago to successfully complete the tasks assigned by the Party and people - firmly protecting the sovereignty of the beloved sea and islands of the Fatherland.
