With an important military strategic position, being the core force in carrying out the task of protecting the Socialist Fatherland, in recent times, officers and soldiers of the Mat Island Mixed Battalion have performed well in combat readiness work, protecting the airspace and sea; participating in preventing and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters, contributing to building a solid people's position.
In the complicated regional and international context, especially China's brazen illegal placement of the Haiyang Shiyou 981 drilling rig in Vietnam's exclusive economic zone and continental shelf. Along with more than 90 million Vietnamese people who are day and night turning towards the sea and islands of the Fatherland with practical actions, comrade Tran Van Huong, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association, sent to the officers and soldiers of the Mat Island Mixed Battalion the deep sentiments of the officers and members of the Farmers' Association of the whole province.
