Visit and give gifts to Mon Son Border Guard Station
(Baonghean.vn) - On November 29, the Association of soldiers captured and imprisoned by the enemy in the province coordinated with the Communist Youth Union of Vinh University of Technical Education to visit, give gifts, and talk about traditions with Mon Son Border Guard Station (Con Cuong).
To practically celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2014), on November 29, the Association of Revolutionary Soldiers Captured and Imprisoned by the Enemy in the province coordinated with the Communist Youth Union of Vinh Technical Pedagogical University to visit, give gifts, and talk about traditions with Mon Son Border Guard Station (Con Cuong). Attending were the Leadership Board of the Association of Revolutionary Soldiers Captured and Imprisoned by the Enemy and 20 members representing nearly 300 members in the whole province, outstanding members of Vinh Technical Pedagogical University, commanders and soldiers of Mon Son Border Guard Station and representatives of the Party Committee and People's Committee of Mon Son commune.
The delegation planted a souvenir hibiscus tree grafted from Uncle Ho's garden in Kim Lien (Nam Dan) and at the memorial house of Mr. Vi Van Khang - the first Party cell secretary in Western Nghe An; listened to a brief report on the local situation and the results of the station's activities in recent years. The station's soldiers and students also listened to members of the Association of Revolutionary Soldiers captured and imprisoned by the enemy share about the arduous but heroic days on the battlefield against the US, about the fierce and heroic days of fighting the enemy in prison.
At the exchange, there were also many exciting performances with songs praising the homeland and the soldiers of Uncle Ho. On this occasion, the Association of Revolutionary Soldiers Captured and Imprisoned by the Enemy and the Vinh University of Technical Education presented the Mon Son Border Guard Station with musical instruments and sports equipment to help improve the spiritual life of the soldiers.
