(Baonghean) - Just after 6 am, the fields of Phuong Chi, Con Bai, Hooc Lach, village 3A, Quynh Tam commune (Quynh Luu) were bustling like a festival.

From afar, we saw banners, slogans and heard loud voices and laughter. When the song “Volunteer Footprints” was played from the propaganda team, more than 250 officers and soldiers of the 16th Artillery Brigade (Military Region 4) together with officers, youth union members and people of Quynh Tam commune embarked on a day of enthusiastic work to help village 3A, Quynh Tam commune build internal roads, build embankments, and land bank banks to serve the work of land consolidation and land exchange.

Interspersed among the green uniforms of soldiers are the green volunteer uniforms of the cadres, union members and people of Quynh Tam commune. Some groups dig and build roads in the fields, others wade through mud to build embankments, plot embankments and field embankments. Despite the scorching summer sun, the working atmosphere is still bustling, urgent and effective.

Near noon, the sun became more intense, the air was stuffy but the working spirit was still enthusiastic and tireless. Each hoe and shovel stroke was still pounding into the ground, mixed with the voices and laughter. After finishing pouring the soil with the young union member of village 3A, stopping to wipe the sweat from his forehead, Private First Class Nguyen Van Phu - a soldier of Company 6, Battalion 2, Brigade 16 shared: "I am very happy and proud to participate in helping the people. This is a very meaningful job, so even though it is a bit hard, I still do not hesitate...". Mr. Le Dinh Hung - Secretary of the Party Committee of Quynh Tam commune said: “Hamlet 3A is the first hamlet of the commune to implement land consolidation and plot exchange. In order to have time for people to enter the summer-autumn crop production, we proposed to Brigade 16 for help and received enthusiastic support from the unit. Despite the extremely hot weather and the hard and heavy work, the officers and soldiers of Brigade 16 mobilized massively, working enthusiastically, responsibly. It was this enthusiasm and responsibility that attracted more people to participate and work more effectively. With the spirit of enthusiastic work, after 1 day, the officers and soldiers of Brigade 16, together with the people of Quynh Tam commune, dug 6,000m3 of soil, built more than 5km of internal roads, embankments, and plot embankments, contributing to helping hamlet 3A complete the land consolidation and plot exchange on schedule.

It is known that since the launch of the movement "Youth of Brigade 16 join hands to build new countryside" up to now, the unit has mobilized thousands of working days of cadres, soldiers together with mass organizations and people of Quynh Tam and Quynh Chau communes (Quynh Luu) to help the locality upgrade and expand rural roads, intra-field roads, dredge irrigation canals, repair and upgrade village cultural houses, collect and treat waste, help people harvest crops... From the beginning of 2013 up to now, the unit has mobilized more than 1,000 working days to help Quynh Tam and Quynh Chau communes dig, fill and dredge more than 3 km of irrigation canals; expand and upgrade 6 km of inter-village roads; repair and upgrade 6 village cultural houses...

When the sunlight gradually set, the embankments, the embankments and the internal roads were completed as planned. Saying goodbye to the officers and soldiers of Brigade 16, we saw in the eyes of the officers and people here still lingering, following them, instead of saying thank you for not being afraid of difficulties and hardships to help the locality with meaningful work, showing the affection between the army and the people to bring the locality to the finish line soon in implementing the targets of building new rural areas.
