(Baonghean) - In the process of performing their duties, cadres, commanders, and officers of the Quy Chau District Military Command have taken many specific and practical actions towards the grassroots, contributing to building solidarity, enhancing the relationship between the army and the people, and creating a solid defense zone.

When visiting the Quy Chau District Military Command, our first impression was the “green, clean, beautiful” barracks space, the working style of the commanders, cadres, and officers was disciplined. Major Le Xuan Son, Deputy Political Commissar of the District Military Command, said: “Implementing Directive 03 of the Politburo on continuing to promote studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh, in addition to rectifying the working style and manners of the cadres and party members in the unit, we have overcome cumbersome administrative procedures; promoted the spirit and attitude of serving the people and focusing on the grassroots with practical activities…” Accordingly, from the commanders to the officers and professional soldiers in the Quy Chau District Military Command, they all practice “saving themselves, leaving some for the needy” when receiving their monthly salaries. The unit donated that money to the families of soldiers in especially difficult circumstances and poor students who overcame difficulties at Chau Hanh 1 Primary School, Chau Hanh Commune.

Stationed in a mountainous area with many socio-economic difficulties, implementing the movement "The Army joins hands to build new rural areas", the Party Committee of the Military Command of Quy Chau district has focused on building an action plan for the armed forces in building new rural areas. The Military Command of the district has coordinated with the departments, branches and organizations of the district to organize 150 sessions in hamlets and villages to propagate the movement of building new rural areas to the people; at the same time, directing the Military Commands of communes to mobilize militia forces to participate in building new rural areas with many diverse and rich forms combined with mass mobilization work. In addition, in order to help people develop the economy, the Military Commands of communes and towns have advised the Party Committees and authorities to carry out the work of shifting the structure of crops and livestock, conducting pilot projects for 1-2 households in the militia force. Up to now, in Quy Chau district, this model has been widely replicated in the militia force and the people. In particular, in 2014, the unit mobilized 120 working days of cadres, officers, professional soldiers, and militia to help the people of Men village, Chau Thuan commune build concrete roads, repair the village cultural house, and raise awareness of responsibility for forest fire prevention and control and crime prevention among the people, which was highly appreciated by the local Party Committee and government. Comrade Luong Van Phu - Secretary of the Party Cell of Men village shared: "With the help of comrades in the army and militia, the road through the village was completed earlier than expected, creating favorable conditions for people to travel more conveniently. The people in the village are very happy, excited and grateful to the soldiers". During the days of helping the people of Men village, Captain Lang Thanh Hai and his teammates lowered the height, leveled the road, and poured concrete. Working with the people, comrade Hai felt even more excited when the feelings of the people for the soldiers were always warm. He shared: “We are very happy because the help of our comrades in the unit has made the village more and more beautiful, and the people's feelings and trust in the force have been increasingly enhanced…”.

Discussing the implementation of Directive 03 at the unit, Major Le Xuan Son, Deputy Political Commissar of the District Military Command, added: “In the process of carrying out the tasks, the unit regularly coordinates closely with the Party Committee, the government and the people to encourage socio-economic development movements, actively participating in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland right from each village…”. With these results, in 2014, the Party Committee of the District Military Command of Quy Chau was assessed by the superiors as a typical clean and strong party organization and proposed to the Provincial Military Command to award the title of Determined to Win Unit.
