They said they could only accept it when they “saw even the smallest piece of concrete evidence” related to the crashed plane.

According to Reuters, the above statement was made by relatives of passengers of flight MH370 during a meeting with Malaysian Deputy Foreign Minister Hamzah Zainuddin in Kuala Lumpur on April 20.

At the meeting, Mr. Zainuddin discussed compensation options for relatives and called on relatives to make specific requests for the Malaysian Government to consider.

Deputy Minister Zainuddin declined to provide further information but added that the Malaysian Government or Malaysia Airlines would set up a fund for the purpose.

However, relatives were not satisfied with the meeting and said that Malaysian authorities should not be too hasty in ending the case by compensating them.

“There was no specific report on the progress of the MH370 investigation at the meeting,” a relative said, adding that “none of their questions were satisfactorily answered.”

“We know that this is a very painful time for the relatives of those on board. No words can describe the suffering they are going through. We understand that not only the relatives but the whole world is waiting for news about MH370,” Mr. Zaiuddin emphasized.

Mr Zaiuddin said he would soon travel to Beijing to strengthen ties between Malaysia and China, which had two-thirds of the 227 passengers on board the missing plane.

After about a week of scanning the ocean floor using sonar technology, a self-propelled submarine was put into use by the search team.

The US Navy's Bluefin-21 submarine has searched about half of the search area but has yet to find any evidence of MH370.

The autonomous submarine even once dived beyond its maximum limit of 4.5km just to find the smallest clue in the waters off Western Australia.

The MH370 search center said the sonar search in the area will be completed next week.

Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein stressed the importance of the autonomous submarine search over the weekend, but added that even if no debris from MH370 is found, the search will be expanded and search teams will use more equipment./.
