In the past, when talking about graves, people often avoided it, but the concept of Vietnamese people has changed a lot, they are willing to spend billions to buy cemetery plots as a resting place for themselves and their families and relatives.

Mr. H. (Director of a real estate company in Hanoi) said that to buy a suitable plot of land, he had to ask feng shui masters for months.

"I think that for business people, spiritual matters of graves are very important. I have to find places with beautiful locations, suitable for feng shui and my age," said Mr. H.

Many people are willing to buy a resting place in advance.

According to Mr. H., in the past, when talking about graves, people often considered it "sensitive", but now the Vietnamese concept has changed a lot. Finding and buying graves and tombs to prepare for one's funeral is a normal thing and should even be done early because one does not know how long one will live.

"The elders often say 'you live as you die', so I think that choosing a place to rest in peace while you are still alive is a normal and necessary thing to do," Mr. H. shared.

Like Mr. H., Mr. K. (branch director of a bank in Hanoi) also just spent more than 3 billion VND to own a cemetery plot of more than 400 square meters.

Mr. K. said that in order to buy this land, he and his family had to visit many current cemetery projects. Finally, his family decided to choose a cemetery park as a resting place for the whole family.

"From the past until now, due to the limited cemetery land area, it is usually difficult for the graves of relatives in a family to be placed next to each other. Therefore, when we learned that there were projects that left large, separate plots of land like a miniature cemetery, my family was very pleased, because in the future, the whole family will be buried close together.

“Life and death are inevitable. Almost all elderly people, when they are alive, reserve a place for themselves. My mother is the same. She is always worried that the cemeteries in Hanoi are full. She is always worried that she will not be buried when she dies. Therefore, choosing a resting place for our parents is both a gift and a responsibility as children,” Mr. K. shared.

Recently, buying cemetery plots as "gifts" is no longer strange to many people.

Currently, some of the projects that are most sought after by customers are Lac Hong Vien Cemetery Park (Hoa Binh), Vinh Hang Vien Cemetery Park (Son Tay, Hanoi), Yen Ky Bat Bat Cemetery (Ba Vi, Hanoi), Thanh Tuoc Cemetery (Me Linh, Hanoi)... These are areas located about 50 km away from the city, convenient for travel, so they are chosen by many city residents.

An investor in a cemetery park project said that every year, during the Vu Lan festival, many customers come to his company to sign contracts to buy grave plots.

This was also the month with the biggest revenue of the year, doubling compared to the previous month.

Currently, single graves in these projects cost from 12 to 15 million VND. As for larger plots of land, the price depends on the size of the land as well as factors such as: Land direction, frontage, space, surrounding landscape, etc.

Many VIP tombs that customers choose are very sophisticated, from choosing construction materials, green landscapes to care services. There are tombs built with imported precious stones such as Italian marble, Indian ruby ​​red stone or Thanh Hoa green stone materials with prices ranging from tens to hundreds of millions of VND (only counting construction costs, not including land prices).

"In my opinion, finding a special burial plot with beautiful landscape, planning and good services is one of the most meaningful and filial acts and gifts that a child can give to their parents when they are old," he said./.
