Peaceful stilt house

(Baonghean) - Huoi Tiem valley (in the mountainous commune of Chau Thai, Quy Hop district) is an ancient settlement of the Thai people (belonging to the Tay Thanh group). Huoi Tiem area has 15 hamlets, each hamlet has its own forest, water wharf and rice fields along both sides of the stream.

The Huoi Tiem stream has abundant and clear water, reflecting the beautiful and peaceful stilt houses all year round. Almost all the villages in this area have stilt houses. The stilt houses were once "bleeding", in Quy Hop, many other villages are gradually losing their stilt houses. Many people are selling their stilt houses to move down to built houses, ground-floor houses like the Kinh people... Only in this Huoi Tiem area, the people are still loyal and attached to their traditional stilt houses. The stilt houses of the Thai people in the Huoi Tiem area are also always developing, just like the lives of the people, from primitive, simple, to sophisticated, modern! There are stilt houses worth up to 400 to 500 million VND. On average, stilt houses in the Huoi Tiem area are also priced from 100 to 300 million VND. Houses below that level are either being dismantled to "upgrade" them, or sold to build new, more beautiful, "modern" stilt houses!...
