Thanh Chuong: The 5th Exemplary Veterans Emulation Congress
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of August 14, the 5th Exemplary Veterans Emulation Congress (term 2009 - 2014) of Thanh Chuong district solemnly opened. Attending were 56 Veterans delegates honored from the grassroots.
Over the past 5 years, the District Veterans Association has regularly paid attention to political and ideological education, strengthened propaganda and current affairs information so that cadres and members can raise their awareness of the Party's policies, the State's policies and laws, the tasks of the locality and the Association. The membership rate reached 98.2%. Every year, the Association coordinates to organize training courses to transfer science and technology in production, animal husbandry, and ward construction to help each other eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and develop the economy...
The result is 344 branches with wards with the amount of 2,375 million VND; there are 1,021 economic models, many war veteran members boldly invested billions of VND to establish companies, build factories attracting many workers and members to participate. Coordinating to mobilize capital sources, the Association has eliminated 56 degraded houses, worth nearly 3 billion VND.
Implementing the movement "War veterans join hands and unite to build new countryside", 1,718 households donated 54,414 m2 land; 2,684 households contributed 86,141 m2 ; contributed 21,268 working days, 4,650 million VND, donated assets on land worth 836 million VND, built 1,371 household waste treatment furnaces worth more than 1 billion VND....
The goal and tasks in 5 years (2014-2019) are to strive for 100% of the association organizations to complete their tasks well, of which 85% or more will complete them excellently. The Congress proposed 07 contents and 03 solutions to continue implementing the emulation movement "Exemplary Veterans".
