Thanh Chuong: Receiving the National Historical Relic Certificate for Hai Hau Temple
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of April 6, Thanh Chuong District People's Committee solemnly held a reception for the national historical relic Hai Hau Temple and Nguyen Phung Family Temple.
Hai Hau Temple, Nguyen Phung family temple in Xuan Tuong commune, Thanh Chuong district is the place to worship two historical figures Nguyen Phung Thoi and Nguyen Ba Quynh - two famous scholars of the 18th century. Their names are recorded in official and local official histories such as: Dai Viet su ky luc bien by the Le Dynasty's historian, Kham dinh Viet su thong giam Cuong muc by the Nguyen Dynasty's National Embassy, Nghe An ky and Thanh Chuong district history by Bui Duong Lich. Currently, the temple still preserves 18 royal decrees, including the decree dating from the 15th year of Vinh Thinh (1711) to the 13th year of Canh Hung (1752), which conferred titles and titles on Nguyen Phung Thoi during his time as an official after passing the Doctorate exam until his death.
The royal decrees from the 6th year of Thanh Thai (1894) to the 9th year of Khai Dinh (1924) granted the two men the title of Duc Bao Trung Hung Linh Phu Chi Than and entrusted them to the people to worship. The contents of the official history and the royal decrees provide a fairly complete account of the current situation as well as the contributions of the two men to the development of the country in the 18th century.

On October 31, 2013, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 3822/QD-BVHTTDL recognizing Hai Hau Temple and Nguyen Phung Family Temple as national historical relics. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Vo Van Tien - Vice Chairman of Thanh Chuong District People's Committee affirmed: The ceremony to receive the certificate of recognition of Hai Hau Temple and Nguyen Phung Family Temple as national historical relics is an occasion to show respect for the merits of our ancestors. The contributions of the two men have contributed to creating a good cultural tradition, from which we need to have an increasingly higher sense of responsibility in preserving and promoting the cultural heritages of our homeland, including Hai Hau Temple.
