Thanh Chuong summarizes 10 years of the mass movement to protect national security
(Baonghean) –This morning, July 12, Thanh Chuong District People's Committee held a conference to summarize 10 years of implementing Joint Resolution No. 01/2001/NQLT between the Ministry of Public Security and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee on "promoting the mass movement to protect national security in the renovation period from 2001-2011".
Thanh Chuong is a mountainous district with 53 km of Vietnam-Laos border, Thanh Thuy - Nam On border gate; 52 km of Ho Chi Minh road runs through the area; 21/40 communes have Catholic people and 1,346 Thai and Kho Mu households from Tuong Duong have resettled since 2006; the number of poor households accounts for 24.91%, people's lives face many difficulties, the level of education is uneven... are the difficulties and challenges for the task of protecting national border security. Deeply aware of the important task of protecting national security in the new situation, the Party Committee, the government, especially the police force, the Vietnam Fatherland Front have considered this a strategic task, playing an important role in maintaining political stability, a factor promoting economic development.
After 10 years of implementing Joint Resolution No. 01/2001/NQLT between the Ministry of Public Security and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee on "promoting the movement of the entire people to protect national security in the period of renovation from 2001-2011", the police from district to commune level have investigated and clarified many incidents occurring in the area, handled many violators, coordinated with blocks, hamlets, clans, and organizations to create educational records, brought hundreds of subjects to community education and management, brought them to the people for review, and transformed thousands of subjects into good citizens. Many collectives have been creative and implemented effectively such as the Women's Union, the Veterans Association, the Youth Union, and the Elderly Association.
At the conference, the district chairman decided to award 10 collectives and 7 individuals with outstanding achievements in the mass movement to protect national security in the new situation in the period 2001-2011.
